The Housing Officer manages the Campbell River Indian Band reserves #11, #3, #4 and any other lands that the Campbell River Band has title to. The Housing Officer works directly with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to ensure all documentation from community members is submitted correctly. Upon approval of funding the Housing Officer then helps the prospective home owners prepare for construction. The Housing Officer also helps guide homeowners through renovation processes and maintenance problems.
Christine Smith is the Housing Officer and has been working with the band for 21 years; Christine recognizes that housing is the foundation for a strong and healthy community. Christine’s goal is to meet the needs of the community and provide assistance however possible.
